FLORENCE, AL – The Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions will have ACONHP Rides Pink on Oct. 29 at One Ride Cycle in Muscle Shoals. This free community event is designed to promote women’s health and breast cancer awareness and will include a private cycling session at One Ride Cycle.
“Empowering people regarding disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices is at the heart of nursing care,” said Melanie Looser, a Lecturer in the College. “The One Ride Cycle event is just one way we can encourage the community to embrace their healthcare.”
Two ride times are scheduled for the 29th – one at 10:30 a.m. and the second at noon. Participants will receive themed swag bags, complimentary refreshments, and resources related to breast cancer awareness. The event is funded through the Women’s Heart and Health Grant, and registration is required at this link. The registration deadline is Oct. 5.
“The ACONHP is always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Dr. Michelle Nelson, Interim Associate Dean in the College. “When Mrs. Looser presented this idea, I knew it would be something our faculty, staff, students, and the community would embrace.”About The University of North Alabama
